Crypto Mobile wallet - access your crypto tokens.

A wallet for everyone. Get started with crypto.

Lisk set itself the goal to make blockchain technology accessible for a future in which everyone benefits from it. We empower developers with a software development kit for blockchain applications and are working on an interoperability solution to let everyone seamlessly use them on our platform.

The goal with the addition of the Lisk Mobile wallet to the Lisk ecosystem, was to allow users to have an handy wallet on the go, and also have a trusted one, made by Lisk. We wanted to accomplish the best User Experience on a Mobile device, keeping it in strong connection with the already existing desktop wallet.

The process

We started inside with the Ideation phase, sketching the initial wireframes basing it off the desktop application, starting with must-have functionalities. It needed to be organized, allowing them to perform their tasks frictionlessly.

Based on the experiences of our previous research team and the development of the Lisk Desktop wallet, we had the chance to include their knowledge into the mobile application.

We then focused on who is going to use it and what's the benefit they would get out of it, by offering a convenient addition for enhanced usability and overall convenience, as you can access your account anywhere you can take your mobile device. With the information from our desktop application, we created a minimum viable product (MVP) roadmap.

Competitor Benchmarking

We intended to find inspiration for improvements or additional flow elements and to reveal possible solutions or even common standard patterns for the problems in the current user flow we had on the desktop application.

Styles & Components

We created all UI styles and components we needed especially to establish a fully consistent and accessible experience. The result was a library of highly reusable elements that enabled us to develop a hi-fi prototype very quickly.

Introducing Lisk Mobile

We built the individual screens for each step of our flow and added more minimalistic page animations and micro-interactions including illustrations.

To better measure the impact of individual improvements during usability testing, we focused on simplifying the visual hierarchy, providing guidance through UI and UX writing, and reducing further confusion in the first prototype.

The outcome

Lisk Mobile App launched in October 4, 2018 at Lisk Berlin Meetup and it was successful. The community shared with us great feedback, and helped us further improve the initial concept.

I have left the company Feb, 2020 to pursue another adventure. It was an amazing experience working on such a wide scale application with a great team.
